Here, visitors can drive the highest paved road in any national park, the Trail Ridge Road, which crests at 12,183 ft., or hike on 350 miles of trails. In the winter months, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and sledding are great ways to experience the park.
Keep a look out for the wide variety of animals that call the park home, including more than 60 mammal species, 280 kinds of birds and hundreds of species of butterflies.
