Opinion sections are a venue for discussion of serious issues of public policy: whether consumption taxes are preferable to wealth taxes, say, or the imperative of vaccinating young children — to take two of our current offerings. But there is a place for cheeky fun, too, and for smart cultural commentary of the type that is a specialty of columnist Alyssa Rosenberg.  So Rosenberg seized on a contretemps over a nixed Batman sex scene in the adult-oriented animated series about supervillain Harley Quinn to discuss the larger phenomenon about what culture's depiction of the sex lives of superheroes, or lack thereof, says about them — and us. "Superheroic celibacy is deflating," Rosenberg writes. "If even people this fit and talented can't get their sex lives together, what chance do we normies have to find intimacy and romance — much less to form families?"
