COVID goes for the gold

Forty people were arrested last weekend at a right-wing protest against a trans woman using a spa
How did it start? On the internet, of course: Last month, a video went viral of a woman screaming at the staff of Wi Spa in Los Angeles, saying that a transgender woman was nude on the women's floor. This was the second time protests became violent outside the spa since this video was posted online.
Was a trans woman actually at the spa? Remains unclear. Does it matter? Not really! The point is that Tucker Carlson Tonight picked up that video of the angry customer, along with a thread by conservative commentator Ian Miles Cheong. You may not be surprised to hear that footage from Saturday's protest shows people chanting, "Save our children," a notable QAnon rallying cry.
39 people were arrested for failure to disperse. Another was arrested for having a prohibited weapon. A good way to avoid this ever happening again is to mind your own business. STAYING ON TOP OF THIS

Much like myself, Instagram is spending $1 billion through to the end of 2022 just to get influencers to like them. If you own a social media app, please know you can always pay me any amount of money to not post.
The cohost of the podcast "She Rates Dogs" Mat George was killed in a hit and run. He was only 26.
RECKONING WITH THE PAST
The US is now investigating its deadly Indian boarding school system, and Native Americans are in dire need of mental health support
In just the last few months, the remains of more than 1,000 Indigenous children have been found buried at former residential schools in Canada. Following these discoveries, the US is now investigating its own deadly Indigenous boarding school system, which was even more extensive than the one up north.
"I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED"
She buried the memory of her gang rape for months. Her attackers might never face any consequences.
For nearly four years, Alison Turkos has been fighting for her day in court after she was held at gunpoint, kidnapped, and gang-raped by three men, one of whom was allegedly her Lyft driver. Despite a mountain of evidence, federal prosecutors in Brooklyn have yet to charge anyone. "My question is, What else do you need?" Turkos told reporter Julia Reinstein. "You are asking me to contort my life, my body, my trauma, into a box — a perfect victim box." She's now suing Lyft and the NYPD. I AM TIRED OF EARTH. THESE PEOPLE. I AM TIRED OF BEING CAUGHT IN THE TANGLE OF THEIR LIVES.
Trump gave capitol rioters the language to defend the insurrection and deny reality
It may surprise you to learn that it was former president Donald J. Trump, noted hat connoisseur, who gave the Capitol rioters the language to defend their little insurrection. It's all fAkE nEwS this and dEeP sTaTe that, and plenty of promises to "take back" the country. Personally, I've always admired the insurrectionists seemingly admitting that, at some point, they did have the country to begin with. It's very, "I touched this doll once and therefore, it is mine in perpetuity." I'm not a lawyer, but I'm sure that logic holds up in court.
