| So you thought this was almost over, huh? As the world continues to look like it's opening up and easing restrictions on masks, distancing and everything else, the pandemic has a way of reminding us that we need to remain vigilant. Thanks to the new delta variant, and the large number of people who aren't getting vaccinated, the virus is spreading rapidly again. It's leaving folks like me (and probably you) wondering how to protect our kids, especially those who can't be vaccinated yet. In our house, we have one who was able to get vaccinated, and we have one child who isn't old enough yet. So while it was a relief to get our teen his vaccine, it wasn't a full-on celebration. Now, with this variant making its way through our world (quickly), we're back to stricter measures to keep everyone safe, especially our most vulnerable kiddo here. I asked infectious disease specialists and pediatricians how to manage this newest strain, whether we can expect kids to go back to school in person, and what to do about the tiniest babes among us. We hope this helps you as we navigate this together. So take a deep breath, let us know what else you'd like to hear, you know where to find me. Have a good weekend, everyone. | Perspective ● By Meghan Leahy and Amy Joyce ● Read more » | | | |
