That includes, Attiah reports, any instruction that makes a student feel "discomfort, guilt, anguish or any other form of psychological distress on account of his or her race or sex." About as clear as mud, right? Attiah could have used the moment to decry the rules. And certainly, she does, referring to them as an effort "determined to steamroll over truth in education." But her main focus is on two women — one board member and one student — who stood up to the ridiculous standards. As a result, the nation will know education wasn't trampled on without a fight.
