Welcome to the monthly reading list of Design Stories, the online magazine of Finnish Design Shop. In August, we invite you to take a peek in Eri Shimatsuka and Jussi Kalliopuska's joyful home, get inspired by Maija Rasila's favorites and HAY's colorful autumn arrivals, marvel at Yrjö Kukkapuro's inspiring studio, and explore The Finnish Museum of Photography's exhibition space K1 and Gasm Café & Bar located in a shopping mall in central Helsinki.
Finnish Design Shop's interior architect, Maija Rasila, talks about her favorite products and styles in Design Stories' Favorites of the Month column. In August, she is gradually preparing for the approaching fall, keeping a keen eye on the latest trends in interior decoration.
Ateljee Kukkapuro, which has been the home and workspace of Yrjö Kukkapuro and graphic artist Irmeli Kukkapuro for decades, is an international attraction. Design Stories had the pleasure of visiting the studio and hearing about Yrjö Kukkapuro's life's work and the importance of the space and collaboration for creativity.
The Finnish Museum of Photography's exhibition space K1, accompanied by a museum shop and a restaurant, is located on the bottom floor of the Kämp Galleria shopping mall in central Helsinki. At street level is the Gasm Café & Bar, the heart of the mall.
