| Illegal crossings are at the highest levels in more than two decades, and health officials are struggling with soaring numbers of coronavirus infections among migrants. Until now, only a limited number of migrants in detention facilities have been offered vaccines. Under the new plan, the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will be offered to migrants taken into custody by U.S. Customs and Border Protection soon after crossing the border, according to two Homeland Security officials with knowledge of the plan. |
