When preventive care is delayed, the result is a later strain on our health-care system. And as hospitals again fill with covid patients, there is less and less room to treat others — a dangerous cycle.
The U.S. must rescue not only Americans and those Afghans who directly aided them, but also at least a large portion of those who trusted in democratic freedom itself and face Taliban reprisals as a result.
