| Members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees — which represents 60,000 set builders, hair and makeup artists and other off-camera workers— signal they are prepared to walk out at a time when the industry is racing to keep pace with an ever-growing number of on-demand movies and TV shows. Central to the dispute with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers is how crew members are compensated for content available on such streaming platforms as Netflix, Apple TV Plus and HBO Max. Should crew members end up striking, it would mark the biggest work stoppage in Hollywood since the 2007 writers strike. |
