| The Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the prize jointly to Benjamin List of Germany and David MacMillan of the United States for developing a third way of building molecules, called organocatalysis. The development allows researchers to construct new products — especially pharmaceuticals — and molecules in a cheap, environmentally friendly way. |
