A Harry Potter Reunion
| Well hey again,
Happy Hump Day!
And thank god it is, because somehow this week has already felt like two. Between Red (Taylor's Version), learning about the Harry Potter reunion, the first trailers for Don't Look Up and Spider-man: No Way Home, I've been stretched to my emotional limits this week.
Oh. And there's also the not-so-small fact that King Richard comes out Friday, which is putting me and every other Serena & Venus fan on **edge.**
Finally, can someone send Laura Ingraham a copy of this newsletter? YOU does not literally mean "you," Laura. Love is rolling in her grave.
Until next week,
Gretchen
PS. If you see a something that you think should be the 'Tweet of the Week," send it to me @tarrantgretchen and I'll be sure to shout you out 💃
There's a lot to unpack here folks, so buckle up. A confession up front: I am a Swiftie at heart. That being said, I couldn't decide at first if I loved or hated this latest addition to Taylor's best album of all time (yes, I went there.)
First off, am I the only one who can't unsee Dylan O'Brien as that boyish sidekick in Teen Wolf? Someone's had a glow up 👏 And Sadie Sink as that 14-year-old in Stranger Things? Once I got over that (second or third watch, just give it time) it finally struck me how wrecked I was from the experience. The argument in the kitchen was just a little too, I don't know, real? Either Taylor is as talented at filmmaking as she is at songwriting, or she secretly recorded an argument with Jake Gyllenhaal. Who, by the way, is definitely not all too well after fans came after him this week. Someone put that man in witness protection.
I'll leave it on a good note - @deuxmoi apparently helped find Taylor's Scarf. All's well that ends well?
In Venus's words, "even if you don't understand tennis, you understand family." King Richard is an emotional rollercoaster, painting a picture of not only family, but dedication, perseverance, confidence, and love. Frankly, it's exactly the inspiration we needed after a year like this.
Mom, dad, sit down, I have some news.
Danielle Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are reportedly part of an upcoming HBO Max special celebrating the 20th anniversary of the OG Harry Potter film! I mean, if that's not something to be thankful for, I don't know how to help you.
