Paul Gosar keeps defending his anime that showed him killing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

At least 85 people are charged with carrying or using a weapon during the Capitol riots, according to BuzzFeed News' analysis of court records. It's a charge that significantly ups the stakes for the defendants on trial.
A class-A misdemeanor for illegally going into the Capitol carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison. If a defendant also had a "deadly or dangerous" weapon, the maximum sentence jumps to 10 years behind bars. A defendant can face up to 8 years in prison for assaulting an officer, or 20 years if they did it with a weapon.
But what constitutes a dangerous weapon? Reporter Zoe Tillman outlined the main categories of weapons that prosecutors have identified in the charges so far. The list highlights how rioters' weapons extended well beyond guns and knives, and the way that numerous different objects quickly became improvised means of harm. STAYING ON TOP OF THIS

Paul Gosar (R-AZ) posted a photoshopped take on the anime Attack on Titan this past Monday, one that depicts dramaticized violence against his Democratic colleagues.
In the video, an anime version of Gosar glides through the air with swords and attacks a giant with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's face. Seconds later, the same character wields his swords at a Joe Biden–like character. Gosar has since released a statement defending his video, calling it "a symbolic portrayal of a fight over immigration policy."
House Republican leaders won't say whether they will discipline Gosar for the video. They also haven't said anything publicly criticizing their fellow member of Congress, even after Twitter flagged the post for hateful content on Tuesday. SNAPSHOTS
The family of a 9-year-old who is in a coma from his injuries at Astroworld is suing Travis Scott. "BUT PRESIDENTS ARE NOT KINGS"
Trump's attempt to block certain records related to the Capitol riot has failed in court US District Judge Tanya Chutkan ruled against Donald Trump's request to conceal records related to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Trump argued that the documents should be protected by executive privilege and that releasing them would cause irreparable harm. In her decision on Tuesday night, Chutkan wrote that examining events related to Jan. 6 was in the public's best interest, and dismissed the former president's assertion of privilege.
"But Presidents are not kings, and Plaintiff is not President," she wrote. "He retains the right to assert that his records are privileged, but the incumbent President 'is not constitutionally obliged to honor' that assertion."
