I know the day can be packed with obligations, but at just 95 words, Sergio Peçanha's latest illustrated column is worth your time. Think of it as a palate cleanser between that big bite of turkey and that bigger bite of mashed potatoes. (Or, if you come from a no-phones-at-the-table clan — congrats, and feel free to read it between the sporting and herding groups at the Westminster dog show.) The piece imagines a "benevolent turkey": not one that we pardon, but one that pardons us. This year, it turns out, there's a lot to pardon. "Man-o-man," Peçanha writes. I hope you have a holiday that's refreshing and reflective, too. A little conviction amid all the gratitude won't go amiss.
